I am interested in those moments of light and shadow that speak of intangible things, what it means to be a buffalo, what it was like to live a life now gone. I seek happenstance of light and shadow, when an abandoned building exudes a sense of the people who once lived in it. Photography is an art of paradox, where light can shape a buffalo’s weight and mass, and natural shapes can turn into abstract forms. A good photograph looks back at us. I want viewers of my work to feel themselves caught in the gaze of the world.
